TB-500 is a synthetic fragment (amino acids 17–23) of Thymosin Beta-4, with an active LKKTETQ sequence responsible for actin upregulation, cell motility, angiogenesis, and tissue remodelling. Unlike locally-acting peptides, TB-500’s small, flexible molecular structure enables systemic distribution to distant injury sites throughout the body.
- Systemic distribution — small LKKTETQ sequence reaches distant injury sites inaccessible to local peptides.
- Cell migration and angiogenesis — upregulates actin polymerisation and VEGF-mediated blood vessel formation.
- Tendon, ligament, and muscle repair — accelerated healing of musculoskeletal injuries including tendon ruptures and muscle tears.
- Anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic — modulates pro-inflammatory cytokines and inhibits myofibroblast differentiation.
- Complements BPC-157 — systemic (TB-500) vs. local (BPC-157) mechanisms for synergistic musculoskeletal repair research.
